Florida man will get life in prison for traveling to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors – WFTV

TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for touring to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met on-line, in line with officers.

The U.S. Department of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two totally different times in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Court records say he flew back and forth disguising himself as an English trainer.

Some of the boys, in keeping with the DOJ, had been lured with guarantees of cash and gifts. Others introduced him as their English teacher.

The Tampa Bay Information says Homeland Safety investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh Metropolis. It was a part of Venture Protected Childhood, which was an effort to find little one intercourse abuse began in 2006 by the DOJ.

“The laws of the USA will still catch up to baby predators who even travel to international countries to sexually abuse minor kids. Due to HSI’s international investigative authorities and robust partnerships, both at HSI Tampa and HSI Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, this sexual predator was stopped from harming more kids and his victim could have the justice they deserve,” mentioned HSI Tampa Assistant Special Agent in Charge John Dumas, in accordance with a news launch from stated HSI Tampa Assistant Special Agent in Cost John Dumas.

Day pleaded responsible to 2 counts of travel with intent to interact in illicit sexual conduct and two counts of tried coercion and enticement of a minor into unlawful sexual activity, in response to the DOJ. Day has been sentenced to life in jail.
