Gabe Kapler: ‘I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead until I feel better concerning the route of our country’

Talking in the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler said, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead until I really feel better in regards to the direction of our nation."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her kids. They blocked mother and father attempting to prepare to charge in to cease the shooter, together with a father who realized his daughter was murdered whereas he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians determine that the lobbyist and gun industries are more necessary than our kids's freedom to go to school while not having bulletproof backpacks and lively shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he referred to as "the lack of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."

"I'm not okay with the state of this nation. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I could have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that once you're dissatisfied along with your nation, you let it be identified through protest. The house of the courageous ought to encourage this."

Kerr refused to talk about basketball ahead of Game 4 of the Warriors' collection towards the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative raising his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"Within the last 10 days, we've had aged Black people killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've children murdered at college," Kerr advised reporters at the start of the press convention.

"When are we going to do something? I'm tired. I'm so bored with getting up here and offering condolences to the devastated households which are out there ... I'm tired of the moments of silence. Enough."
