Days after at least 19 elementary school college students and two lecturers have been killed in a mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, students at schools across the country staged walkouts to protest gun violence.

In Michigan, college students at Oxford Excessive Faculty, where a faculty shooting occurred in November, staged a walkout at 12 p.m. on Thursday. 4 students had been killed in the taking pictures.

The 17 year-old says her faculty's administration was in help of the walkout and he or she hopes the over 200 planned demonstrations throughout the country send a transparent message that students are a "united entrance."

A walkout might not necessarily change laws, Janoff stated, but these actions show "students are still united on this."

She said that though most college students aren't sufficiently old to vote, they still wish to see change and are willing to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"Students do not should be quiet about it simply because they are a kid," Janoff stated.
