Taliban leader orders ladies to put on all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme leader and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the country’s ladies to wear the all-covering burqa in public - one of many harshest controls imposed on women’s lives for the reason that Taliban seized power.

“They should wear a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it is conventional and respectful,” mentioned a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was launched by Taliban authorities at a function in Kabul.

“Those girls who are usually not too old or young must cover their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, in order to keep away from provocation when assembly males who should not mahram (adult close male relations),” the decree said.
