Apple has discontinued the iPod, 20 years after it was launched.
The US tech large mentioned its iconic music player has been changed by other units, making the iPod redundant.
Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide advertising, mentioned: "Right now, the spirit of iPod lives on.
"We've integrated an unimaginable music experience across all of our products, from the iPhone to the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and across Mac, iPad, and Apple TV.
"And Apple Music delivers industry-leading sound quality with support for spatial audio - there's no higher approach to take pleasure in, uncover, and expertise music."
In October 2001, Steve Jobs debuted the unique iPod and it was the first MP3 player that could maintain 1,000 songs and had a 10-hour battery life.
"With iPod, Apple has invented a whole new category of digital music participant that lets you put your complete music collection in your pocket and hearken to it wherever you go," he stated at the time.
"With iPod, listening to music won't ever be the identical again."
Related MP3 players launched by Microsoft and Sony did not have the same success as the iPod.
Apple has released five versions of its music player - the Traditional, Touch, Shuffle, Mini and Nano.
The corporate has been slowly killing its iPod vary in recent times, with mobile phone expertise enabling clients to listen to music providers on their phones.
In 2014, the classic click on wheel mannequin was discontinued, and the Shuffle and Nano had been killed off three years later.
