ERCOT Asks Texans to Conserve Energy Through the Weekend – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Value

ERCOT, Texas' energy grid operator, is placing out a name for all Texans to preserve power over the following few days as we head into a weekend with probably report warmth.

In a press release, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas said, "unseasonably hot weather" was driving file demand across Texas" and that they want everyone to preserve energy between 3 p.m. and eight p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday after six services unexpectedly tripped offline Friday afternoon.

ERCOT stated six power vegetation dropped off the grid Friday, resulting in a lack of about 2,900 MW of technology -- that is sufficient electricity to energy roughly 580,000 houses.

In response to ERCOT information, demand reached 65,412 MW shortly earlier than 5 p.m. Friday. Since that point the demand has been dropping. At 5:30 p.m., ERCOT had operating reserves of roughly 3,400 MW and in an announcement on Friday afternoon said, "Right now, all technology assets accessible are working."
