The family of an 11-year-old woman who survived the massacre at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday says the 4th grader played useless after the gunman entered her classroom.

Miah Cerrillo's aunt and godmother stated the 4th grader is struggling to cope and telling them what she witnessed throughout the capturing.

"Around midnight my sister-in-law called me and he or she was simply crying, like 'I feel it simply hit Miah. I think everything came to actuality now,'" stated Blanca Rivera.

Rivera stated Miah's trainer, Irma Garcia, was one of the two teachers killed. Her pals and classmates were also targeted.

Rivera stated that is when Miah went into survival mode.

"Miah received some blood and put it on herself so she could pretend she was lifeless," said Rivera. "It's too much for me to play that scene time and again, but that is what my sister-in-law said is that she saw her friend filled with blood and she or he acquired blood and put it on herself."

Miah was injured but taken to the hospital and has been launched.

"My brother said she had bullet fragments in her back," said Rivera.

Rivera, a mom of three, stated the household is rallying around Miah to assist her get well physically, emotionally and spiritually.

"At this level, we simply have to wish and ask God to assist us transfer forward by means of this case, I know it's traumatizing as it is," mentioned Rivera.
