A fifth grade scholar in Florida was arrested over the weekend and charged with sending a text message threatening to carry out a mass taking pictures, authorities said.

In an announcement Saturday, the Lee County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned it had learned earlier that day of a "threatening text message" despatched by a pupil at an elementary college.

It said its native school threat enforcement workforce was immediately notified and began investigating. The ten-year-old boy was interviewed and charged later with "making a written menace to conduct a mass shooting," the sheriff's office stated.

In video shared by authorities, the boy might be seen being led right into a police automobile.

“This pupil’s conduct is sickening, especially after the current tragedy in Uvalde, Texas,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno mentioned in an announcement, noting that the threat got here simply days after the deadly school shooting at Robb Elementary School left 19 college students and two teachers lifeless.
